Refund policy

What is refunded automatically
- A request that fails before producing a billable token is not charged. The credit reservation is released in full.
- A stream that dies mid-response is not charged. SurgeX does not bill for a response the caller did not receive.
- When hedging races two routes, only the winner is billed. The aborted attempt is not charged to you.
- Where a billing error is identified, a correcting ledger entry is written. The ledger is append-only, so corrections are visible rather than silent.
Unused credit
Credit added to an account is service credit. It pays for inference through SurgeX Network and is not redeemable for cash, not transferable between accounts, and not an account balance held on your behalf.
Credit does not expire while an account is in good standing. If an account is closed at your request, any remaining credit is forfeited; if we close or suspend an account for reasons other than a breach of the acceptable use policy, we will tell you what happens to the remaining balance at that time.
Whether unused credit must be returnable as money is governed by money transmission and stored-value rules that differ by jurisdiction. The policy above is the common arrangement for prepaid service credit; it is the section most worth confirming with counsel for the places you operate in.
Crypto deposits
- On-chain deposits are irreversible once confirmed.
- A deposit sent on the wrong chain, or in a token that is not on the allowlist, cannot be credited and generally cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
- A deposit below the published minimum is not credited. The minimum exists because the network cost of processing a smaller amount exceeds the amount.
Disputes
Every charge carries a request id, and every ledger entry carries an idempotency key. Quote the request id when raising a billing question and the exact charge can be traced.
